Speaking about my work is often difficult. I sometimes don’t know much about a piece until long after it is finished. Even though the processes I use can be very involved, the result I am searching for is something that ultimately communicates simplicity.
When someone looks at my art and feels a sense of intimacy, even perhaps uncomfortably so, I am happy. When someone looks closer at a mixed media piece and becomes aware of my hand laying down the materials I am happy. If I can say anything it is that I seek to expose rather than to mystify. True intimacy is born of exposure.
After working for years in New York as a photographer and then as an interior designer I am now working simultaneously in seemingly different disciplines. The result is an ever evolving style and body of work on three fronts.
